Treating Yourself

As winter ends and we enter a new season, it may feel as though your to-do list keeps growing longer and longer. The stress of balancing work, family and other responsibilities can sometimes feel overwhelming. In times like these, it’s important to take time to treat yourself. Keep in mind that these little treats don’t have to be time-consuming or expensive. Just adding one or two little treats into your week can help you de-stress and feel happier.

Grab a Latte or an Ice Cream Cone
If you usually brew your coffee at home, stopping by a local coffee shop can feel like a special treat. Swing by your favorite coffee joint for a latte and spend 15 minute reading a book or magazine. Or grab an ice cream cone and park yourself on a bench to people watch. Just taking a few minutes to yourself can be a welcome reprise from your busy schedule.

Movie Night
After a long week, there’s nothing more relaxing than putting on your pajamas and hanging out on your couch. Make it a movie night by preparing a bowl of popcorn, throwing in your favorite comedy and spending the next two hours laughing. If you have even more time on a weekend, make it a movie marathon for ultimate relaxation.

Buy Yourself a New Accessory
It doesn’t take much to boost your mood—a new accessory might be just the thing! Treat yourself to a fabulous vintage cocktail ring or a great new bracelet. Pick out something you love and it will bring a smile to your face every time you wear it.

Get Yourself Flowers
Don’t wait around for someone else to present you with a gorgeous bouquet. Stop by the grocery store or a local florist to get one yourself. Whether you love the look of a dozen roses or appreciate lush hydrangeas, a vase overflowing with your favorite flowers is certain to boost your mood.

Do-It-Yourself Spa Day
If you’re in need of some pampering, invite your friends over for a spa day. Prepare a simple facial mask and take turn doing each other’s nails. You’ll feel pampered and get to spend some quality time with your favorite friends.

When life is stressing you out, it’s important to take some time to recharge. Treating yourself to something small can make you appreciate the many blessings in your life.
